Wards Master Quality question

My dad gave me a hatchet today that was my maternal grandfather's. The brand is Wards Master Quality. It has a single bevel on the bit. Is this some sort of roofer's hatchet? It's in great shape.

THe head shape is like a broad axe. Just thought it was strange that it's offset and only has the single bevel.

I've got a little bit of cleaning up to do, but I think it will turn out nice!

It's a small hewing axe.

Thanks! The single bevel threw me. Also noticed it has nails in the wedge. Weird, since my grandfather was a "Do it right or don't do it at all" kind of man.

Yep, broad hatchet. Just pull the nails and replace them with a proper wood wedge.
