Picked up a cool old Barlow...kind of worse for wear, but I'm working on it. Tang says WARDS and then under MADE IN USA. Anyone know anything about the maker...I've been looking and drawing a blank.

Thanks.

Made for Montgomery Wards? I expect they had different manufacturers contracts. I've seen some very nice cattle knives and stockman with Wards marks. Ulster, Imperial, and Camillus are makers that come to mind.

ditto to thawk, i once had a real nice scout bone handled marked wards. most examples i've seen had very decent construction.--dennis

Utica/Kutmaster made some knives for "Ward's" also.

How about a pic of your Barlow, LKJW??

Thanks guys, that was what I was thinking, too, but I wasn't sure...I found some references to a knifemaker with the name...older though. It kind of says Camillus to me for some reason, but I don't know why. I'll post a pic when I get it a little prettier.

Here she is, along with a buddy.
