I picked this up on eBay about a month ago. The owner had just acquired it from Don Guild and my wife wanted to buy this one for me, but it was just sold when she made the call. Unfortunately the owner had some health issues which forced the sale.

Very nice. He hasn't made a whole lot of folders. I don't suppose you have your collection on-line?

I think I know where you're going with this question Gabe, I'm sorry though they are all NFS.

LOTS of Osborne. I dropped a piece off to Tim George at the ECCKS for engraving. Julie Warenski will do another one of his pieces soon too. I think I have around 10 of his knives now. 5 knives from Kenny Steigerwalt. Sawby, Centofante, Kious, Lake, Walker, Warenski, Fred Carter, J.W. Smith, Hanson, and Aaron Frederick round out the "multiple knives from" end of my collection. There are a few others I like, and will buy "for the right price." Mostly, I tend to collect from the "classic" makers with Warren and Kenny leading the pack because there is just som much inherent value in their knives. The craftmanship is outstanding and the price is "reasonable." I've made a few mistakes over the years and learned that you really can't go wrong from the above list. IMHO there are some "name" makers that I won't touch with a 10 foot pole, but I'll keep that list to myself.

I tend to collect more lockbacks than linerlocks simply because I'm a lefty. Also, I tend to collect smaller knives, very few knives I own have more than a 3" blade and there is a reason for that. Primarily, it keeps my wife happy! Second, if a maker CAN'T make it in that size range, with the same fit and finish as a larger knife, that tells me an aweful lot about his skills. Even Warren dropped the mini lockbacks because the blades are just not worth the time to grind. The blade is a whole 1 1/2" on my most recent acquisition. Finally, if you want to venture into the engraving arena, you'll have to pony up big bucks to have the larger knives engraved; and I'm a humble radiologist, not an ultra-successful software designer! ;

P.S. The knife in my avatar with the double oval inlay is translucent Australian opal and black jade, which is the one going to Julie. That's another one Warren will NOT do again! :D
