I don't own one (yet) but according to this video review , it can bite you if you try to one hand close . Most other CS are safe to close one handed so long as you have a finger far forward to block the blade on the unsharpened base . Skip to ~ 9:40 min for relevant material :

OK
Knife use 101, should teach you how to close a knife
One might well THINK so , but very experienced knife users still make mistakes and this model departs from most CS safety in closing . So worth noting to be forewarned .

I'm not real big on the one hand closing thing , but some people are . ;)

Yep i noticed this a while ago seeing people close it. It's a bit unfortunate that it's designed like that, but i loved the look of it so much that i ordered one anyways. Big fan of the blade and handle shape. Be nice to switch it up with my clip point recon 1 from time to time. Will prob do a review on it when it arrives.

Seems like a design flaw. A one hand opener should be a one hand closer as well.

They would have had to sacrifice some sharpened blade length or made the whole knife longer . That would be OK by me , but many want compact carry . It's not really a fidget toy anyway , so I'm not too worried . Just so people know the danger .

Yeah, I saw that was the reason for the design being more like a short fixed blade. But even if they printed a warning in bright red letters on the knife, I would still be worried I’d try closing it one handed and then have 3 seconds to get a bandage tight around my finger.

Yeah...but probably only ONCE !

Thanks for the heads up. Not an issue for me. I'd just use the leg method like I do on my side-folding autos (press lock, put spine against thigh, push handle toward blade), but I could totally see myself dropping the blade on my finger the first time, had I not seen this (like I did the first time I closed my X2 Voyager one handed :D).

I just got one of these and it isn't a problem for me either.

I close it the same way as G. Scott H says above and it works just the way it should.
Sure guys , that obviously works , too . So long as you don't have a finger or anything in the way of the closing blade , one hand can work !:thumbsup::thumbsup:
