warning - fake sebenza on amazon.com

Amazon is bound to the laws of the country its head office is in. This is clearly copyright infringement as the photo shows that fake box and sticker. Amazon is culpible for willingly promoting for a sale an item that inflicts fraud upon the amazon customer. This sale should be reported to both Amazon and CRK. I am sure when amazon thinks about it, it will be withdrawn from sale.

I am going to buy one and then sue Amazon for the difference in price plus legal fees and lost wages.
 
I'm not trying to defend anyone selling fake knives so don't get me wrong, but it's not claiming to be a Sebenza it says it has a D2 blade and that it's a "Sebenza 21 style" knife. I'm aware this isn't okay I'm just saying anyone with half a brain would know that it's not a genuine Sebenza.
 
I can't help but notice that it is a closed thread from 2008. I assume that is just to stop folks from posting the many counterfeit products offered on the internet. The thread would be the longest on this forum it was not closed. Sadly there is not a hell of lot that can be done about these "Fake" knives being sold wither it be on Amazon, eBay or any other site. I have for my part reported many of these sale posts to e-bay to no avail. But lets not give up. Use the e-mail link to let CRK know. Continue to report these items to e-bay and Amazon and whoever else offers them for sale. The one way to stop this of course will not be done, and that is for the morons in Washington D.C. to pass laws (and then enforce them) to restrict the importation and sale of these products. I'm sure some law's already exist but unfortunately, especially in the current political environment they are not enforced.
I again apologize for another of my long winded rambling posts. I do tend to take the long way around the barn at times.:)

I don't agree. When you include a box, with the CRK logo, the award stickers, and the 'think-twice, cut-once' trademark in the photo you are no longer just selling a tribute clone. Not every buyer is informed or clever enough to pick up on that and might get taken advantage of. If you want to sell knock-offs, leave the box and CRK logo and trademarks out of the photo. That's where I feel they cross the line, and it becomes a liability for Amazon.
 
another difference here is Amazon is not truly a peer-to-peer service like EBay. I know they are drifting in that direction, but in theory Amazon is a 'store' that carries products, and is likely more responsible for the legality of the products on their site than EBay.

This^^^ The seller has more than just the fake CRk in his store, fake Zts, kershaws,Todd Beggs?,Striders (he can keep the striders up), Hinderers,Spydercos,William Henry, this guy is a piece of work.. I would report him but don't know how on amazon.

There is no doubt that it is most likely a violation of several laws, the real problem is that we have arrived to a point in todays society that we pick and chose which laws we are going to enforce and which ones we are going to ignore. As with most things the all mighty dollar (or in this case yuan) is the deciding factor. Just another one of my old fashioned opinions. And of course keeping with the times I apologize if for any reason anyone anywhere, for any reason or even no reason at all is offended by it.
By the way I don't know if any one has mentioned that the picture of the Fake Communist Chinese copy of a Chris Reeve Knife appears to depict a 25 not the Fake Communist Chinese copy of a Chris Reeve Sebenza 21. I wonder who really won the cold war..

The problem is the west won the Cold War and China and Russia had no choice but adopt the western system, and now that the Chinese are capitalists, there's no stopping them. The great lifestyle in the west was somewhat protected as the billions of Chinese worked hard for nothing under strict communism. Now that a portion of that massive population is free to earn a buck, and know how to work hard for long hours, the idle minds and idle attitudes in the west are going to see a change. It's already happening.

I agree with much of what you are saying kidcongo.. But not all. Unfortunately I think if we go very much further with the conversation (and we probably already have) the mods will deem this to be more of a political conversation and not appropriate for this forum.. that being said as our own government continues to slide into the abyss of socialism in an effort to make everything "fair" for everyone, I think we are becoming more like Red China and yes the Russian Federation than they are becoming like the U.S. Unfortunately the type of "Capitalism" practiced in The Peoples Republic of China and to a lesser extent the Russian Federation (former Soviet Union) resembles the sort of Capitalism practiced by the "Fascists" in Germany and Italy just prior to World War two than the true Capitalism we love here. But as I said wrong forum for this discussion.

Well said, and agreed lets keep it about knives. Some day we might meet at a blade show and have a chew on the politics in person.
 
1. Don't post links to dealers who are not paid Bladeforums Dealer members. Report eBay or dealer fakes, clones, or other problems to the legitimate manufacturer being ripped off. The sellers will respond to their complaints better than to yours.

2. NO politics outside of the Political Arena.
