Just got my Cold Steel Trail Guide folder from the mailman today.

It arrived sharp, but not SHARP!

3 minutes on the whetstone and a couple ..l i g h t..strokes on the crock sticks and it is now: "How thin would Madame prefer her paper slivers tonight?"

CARBON steel. Light, one handed, and cheap. I realize from a previous post that some are snickering behind my back, but I shall endure it and whittle away at the detractors.

It is NEAT! As soon as I can stain it up a bit, it will be PERFECT.

Also made in USA but I can live with that. heh

Just retired the Benchmade. snif.

Is Blade magazine for sale yet?

:D :D :D

Lavan,

I would've cheerled the Trail Guide as the one true folder, but Cold Steel has only seen fit to make ambidextrous clips for their Recon-1 and Black Talon folders. Otherwise, it's a best-of-all-worlds folder.

I'd rather have an out-of-this-world Benchmade or Spyderco. Oh wait, the Spydie says it was made on Earth...
