What steel?
Check your grinds. That is usually an indicator of a blade warping. Too much off one side.

The steel is high carbon from an old power hacksaw blade.

The blade is flat-ground, with nothing but the profiling and a rough blade edge done so far.

What type of heat source did you use to heat the blade before you quenched it ? If you got more heat on one side than the other it can cause this also.Dont fret .....All is not lost yet,Go back and anneal the blade, then straighten it again,go back to the grinder and clean the blade shinny{check to make sure your grinds are even at this time) now carefuly heat treat again being careful not to heat one side more than the other and you should get a good heat treat and a straight blade........Hope this helps,Bruce

Hello,

Yep what KIT said,,,also can warp if when grinding you get one side hotter that the other while grinding, builds up internal stresses. Also if your using recycled material, ie, Files,Planer blades,,ect..
Its best to do an Anneal and Normalizing run on the blade prior to hardening.

Also make sure with Air hardening steels you
hold in still air if required or if an Aggitated Air flow is called for Make sure the airflow is even over the entire blade.
