Hey Peeps..... I just posted a cheesy video of me straightening a warped blade on Youtube.

Rick

Check it out....

Nice stuff, Rick.

You need to make yourself a "No snappy - I'm happy" t-shirt!

Well...if you'd have just forged it straight to begin with..............:p

Cool video, your shoulder must be feeling better!

How thick was that blade Rick? That thing flexed really nicely. I've never flexed any of my own blades that much, but have a few times given them a good pull and watched the flex about 1/4 or so as much as you demonstrated your knife.

To me, a good knife should be able to resist a bit of lateral tension placed on it like that. You know, so you can use your knife as it was intended - as a prybar :D

The blade's spine is 5/32", Ken. If I did it right, you can flex it much more than that.

Then next time I test my heat treat I'll take a video of it. Chopping 2x4's, cutting water bottles, rope, and metal. You guys'll flip! I bend them till they break.... and often times they don't! You have to fail to move ahead as a maker.

I don't doubt it Rick - its that kind of language I always like to hear from a maker!

These are the things that really show in your workmanship. It's easy to see how much you believe in what you make.
