Ok guys I have been searching trying to decide if I should buy a Rat 1 from OKC. However I cannot find any info on their warranty info. I really like what my friends and members of groups I am in have said about the low cost EDC knife but I have to know that if it breaks or something I can get a replacement knife... Call me cheap if you want but I like buying products that stand behind their work. So if you have a link or have info please let me know. Thank you

I Remember I got told that they had a life time do to defects not trying to cut a tree down and it breaks or using it as a pry bar.

not sure my knives are so well made i never had to use it haha

but i think Richard is right

One persons use is anothers abuse. Ontario has stepped up it's game recently in customer service. I would not hesitate buying an Ontario. I have 9 of them. I baton with them. I have no issues with them. SP2, 8, 10, 17, 47, 51, 53, Kukri & a Ranger RD6 Signature Series---3/8" thick. Been buying them since the 80/90's. Just use it within reason for that knife & it's thickness.

I had a person buy a Mulea from me and broke the tip off the blade. I ask him how did that happened?? well I was prying up some bricks and the tip broke. they told him tuff they would not fix it. that is why I was saying about defects only.

There have been 2 others recently that have had a large chip out of their Ontario BlackBird SK5's & one broke completely. They were replaced both times. Prying is considered abuse. I have pried with mine, but if it is something serious, i make SURE i use a 1/4" thick one. I generally dont pry with mine & i never throw them either, but i chop with & baton the snot out of all my knives. I do NOT consider that abuse. Many do, i know. I want to know what my blades will take. I do it at home mostly, so if ever in a worst case scenario, i know what i can safely do with said blade. I feel that a knife is meant to cut & chop (depending on size & design). Wood is a normal thing that you would use a knife to cut/chop. If it breaks or chips doing that, i would want & expect a replacement. Prying---dont think i would tell em i was doing that with it. So yeah, i agree, defects only, is reasonable i guess. Knife ownership & use is like anything else in life. Trial & error or better yet, learn from others mistakes, before you make them yourself. :D

I think my only real concern is the website doesnt give any info at all on the warranty. But the brand is really good from what yall say and my friends so i am gonna just buy one. Its not like they are high dollar or anything lol. Thanks guys and if anyone has a story or knowledge of the warranty keep me posted. I ask because i herad once a guy say they had a no questions asked warranty and i want to know if thats true

I think that the mulea is not as thick as the Ontario is. I have crow bars and big screw drivers to pry up brick with.

Had the serrations on a Rat 7 fold over flat after some batoning, called them up and they said send it back they'd replace it. I wanted to get away from the serrated blade so I swapped it at the shop I got it from. He ended up sending it back for a replacement. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned that the serrations had rolled.

What does cheap have to do with it? Anyone would want a company to cover defects or workmanship. Knives dont break by themselves. If you want to misuse or abuse a knife and have the manufacturer keep replacing it for you then you may be something other than cheap. Its a good knife at a good price. Why worry so much about the warranty. Buy it and use it as a knife!
