Eventhough most of Bucks' knives are pretty perfect and don't need any finetuning, nevertheless if I modify (grind, handle) anything (starting with disassembling the knive) I am not covered by Buck's smooth warranty anymore which I do understand. What I am wondering is if it is still possible to send a knive in for repair at my cost (assuming the part that needs to be fixed has not been modified and thus can easily be replaced) or does Buck not supply any service to modified knives?

Klaus.

Klaus,
It is hard to answer that question with a yes or no. It would depend on the modifications and the particular knife. Often times, even though the part needing service was not modified, the parts that were changed need to be accessed in order to do the repair. There are some rare cases where Buck could work on a modified knife but they tend to be the exception.
I hope i answered your question.
