I am wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the company one stop knife shop support. I purchased an auto buck 110 knife in july
last year from them with a lifetime warranty. The knife leaf spring broke. I contacted ONE KNIFE SHOP SUPPORT by phone and was treated very rudely. Apparantly, the company that sold the knife went out of business and they fail to honor the warranty. If anyone has had a problem or has a suggestion as to how I can get my knife repaired, please contact me at jdwk@ wi.net

Try the Buck-forum in the manufacturer's-forum section.
They'll do what they can for you; Buck-aftersales has a very good rep.

Wrong! Buck has absolutely nothing to do with making 110's auto and will not touch them once they are. Buck is located in California, auto's are illegal in California, Buck spends millions fighting stupid knife laws in California, do a search on the Buck forum. This has been discussed many times before. The company that altered the knife when out of business.

Whoa! Didn't know. But hey, I'm new here. Just trying to help.

Lifter said it. Generally lifetime warranties are the responsibility of the manufacturer, not the retailer. This is especially true where unauthorised modifications are made to the knife (or any product, for that matter).

You might be able to find a custom maker that could help you out.

Autos are illegal only if the blades are over 2". I was in the mall knife store today and they had 2 autos with a little tag that said, "California Legal".

The original poster is from WI. Shipping autos interstate is illegal except for licensed dealers servicing LEOs, military and a few others that are permitted to possess an auto. At any rate, a major non-factory-authorized mod would void any warranty. Sometimes you just "takes your chances".;)

Peter LC, I meant nothing personal to you. This subject has just been covered before and Buck works closely with the legal system fighting each new attempt to take away our freedoms that they have to avoid any appearance of anything illegal.
maybe I came on too strong.

Perhaps there is more to this story, but it seems to be that 1SKS not honoring the manufacturer's warranty if the manufacturer goes out of business is standard business practice. 1SKS is a retailer, not a manufacturer. If a knife they sell breaks and is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, if it is returned to them they may do the customer the favor of sending it to the manufacturer, but they are under no obligation to repair it themselves. If I had purchased a plane ticket through a travel agent and the airline went belly-up, I wouldn't expect the agent to have to find me a new ticket at their expense, regardless of what it says on the back of my old one.

If there was something else involved that you feel was rude, I suggest you post it over in the "Good, Bad, and Ugly" forum where it really belongs.

Edit: By the way, I find it interesting that for your first post here at BF you have chosen a negative one, specifically directed at the retailer that is associated with the forums. Welcome to BF.
