This is my first post. I am primarily a gun collector and shooter. I have an interest in knives, though not as intense as, probably, a lot of this forum's members. That all said I do have a collection of fighting knives in the medium price range (K-Bars, MK3 trench knives, Bucks, Gerbers, Eks, Randall Combat Companion, contract bayonets, etc). I purchased a Boker Applegate-Fairburn Combo Edge fighter over 5 months ago online (new). I was not satisfied because the grind line was off so I returned the knife to Boker for replacement. I received back first another knife with a defective grind line and, then, a plain blade fighter (wrong blade). In December I returned that knife also. I have emailed the company and talked to the fellow in warranty to no avail. All I am doing is putting more and more money into return postage. By the way, this particular run of Applegates are made in Germany and being touted as being great quality. I am not a quality "nut" but I do think that a $125 knife should be up to the same standards as routinely seen on WalMart "cheapos". I have owned Boker pocket knives in the past and they were OK but in this case with me the product they put their name on was substandard and their warranty service was unacceptable. It has been now about 6 months since I got the 1st Applegate fighter in the mail and started trying to return it and I still do not have a good knife; I really don't know if I will ever get a replacement. My words are "buyer beware" when buying online any product from this company........if you are not happy with your purchase you may just be "out of luck".
