warranty question

is vertical play in a mid lock design (endura 4 ffg) something i can send off for under the warranty?

I would say it depends on how much play there actually is but sending it in is the only way to be sure.

ugh i figured as much. i just don't want to be without it for 4 weeks for them to send it straight back unchanged. ya know?

Considering they say some vertical play is inherent to their design, I would say probably not.

If it is on a Chaparral or Sage 4 I would say send it in as those models have internal stop pins to prevent that from happening. On other models, unless it's extremely noticeable it is probably best to ignore it. I can feel slight up and down play in my Caly 3.5, LadyBug, Jester and CoPilot if I press the blade down hard onto a cutting board, but it is maybe 1/10th of a MM of movement so I can deal with it.
