I have a well used 301 stockman that has developed some blade play. Is blade play covered under Buck's warranty or is considered 'normal wear and tear'? I know I can fix it myself but that will void the warranty according to Buck. Would they charge a fee? If so, that is completely understandable and I'd be more than willing to pay. Out of all my knives, benchmades, spydercos, kershaws and other more modern knives with better steels, the trusty 301 remains one of if not my absolute favorite knife!

I'd consider it as normal wear and tear. You could send your knife in a for a spa treatment, IIRC it's around $7 but contact Buck to be sure. They will clean it up, sharpen it nicely, correct the blade play and ship it back to you. Not a bad deal in my book.

Thanks for the quick response, that's not a bad deal at all. The only bad part is waiting for it to get back. I hate the idea of being without my 301!

Haha! You are absolutely right! Since I hate the thought of waiting for it to come back from warranty and being without it for 4-6 weeks possibly, maybe I'll just have to buy another so I won't be without one:D. And as the the saying goes, two is one and one is none!

The buck warranty is as good as they come, they will fix your problem, just make a note in detail of what you want fixed and send it with your knife,it will come back to you pretty much perfect!
