warranty question

If someone ever manages to break a Busse, my understanding is that it gets replaced. What if you break a model that has been discontinued? Would Jerry still make you a replacement?
I'm asking only out of curiosity, as I doubt I will ever use a Busse hard enough to break it.

Jerry would likely have to answer this one himself as it is his business and why I say is in no way binding upon the BCKCo.

Witht hat said, it is my understanding that while they would not make you an exact replacement of the KIQ (Knife In Question); they would provide you with a current model of equal value. Again, this is just my understanding and not the official position of the BCKCo.

Harrydog,

It is my understanding that you would receive an equivalent replacement from the current production. (i.e. IF you could break a straight-handled BM, you'd get a BM-E as a replacement.)

I don't know how pieces like a Mean Street, which has no comparable current production piece, would be covered. It'd be interesting to see a breakdown of what you'd get if a replacement was warranted.

This question has actually come up before and here is how Jerry answered it. "We will replace any knife with a knife of similar selling price. . . . of course "selling price" refers to the price that we originally sold the knife for. Some old Busses have increased so greatly in value that we would have to clear out the entire shop if we offered replacements at current market value.

In some instances, we have kept some old blanks available for any warranty issues that might occur.

Hope this helps,

Jerry Busse"
