YES! I read the sticky

OK I just purchased a NIB JYD II Ti/SG2.

As soon as I opened it I knew something was wrong. The edge about 1" from the tip has a dip, not a chip or anything just not a smooth continious curve from the choil to the tip.

The other issue is that the line formed by the SG2 lamination is really off on one side but not the other. I realize there will be variations in this lamination but I had hoped that there would have been more symmetry on each individual example.

I plan on sending it in for warranty service mainly for the first issue which was obviously just one of those rare QC issues (first I've experienced with kershaw)

My concern is that being a limited production run there will be nothing that can be done.

Shoud I send it in or am I stuck?

Thank you
Geoff

Almost all of the JYDIISG2 have more SG2 exposed on one side then the other, mine included. Some a little, some much more. That being said it still cuts great and holds an edge great. As far as the dip goes I have not seen or heard about that. You should contact Kershaw, as they will do everything they can to make it right.

If it makes you feel better, I bought a NIB Ti SG2 JYDII a few months ago and mine also has a "dip" in it -- right at the tip. Mine also has uneven lamination lines, but as SOLEIL mentioned, that is common for SG2 JYDIIs.

The tip of my JYDII really bothered me initially -- for a knife with such flowing lines, the tip of mine is a real eyesore. However, I bought my JYDII to use, and performance-wise, it is a work of art.

Nevertheless, I think if the dip in your knife really bothers you, contact Kershaw -- I'm sure they will do everything they can for you.

Alternatively, you might try contacting the seller whom you bought the knife from and see if they can exchange it for a specimen that is more to your liking.

Good luck,
