So what is the warranty on Koster knives? I don't abuse anything I own but I was just curious. If you are making a hole in hard wood where the tip could break with something pointy like a Buscrafter even in tough 3V, would the warranty cover that?

Dan has a great warranty. As long as the knife wasn't being abused, he will fix it if you send it to him. He is a stand up guy.

Agreed. He is taking care of me with a new knife that had steel problems. I don't think it was even a fault of Dan's. He seems to be a man of his word.

Well great, thanks for the reply. Again, I don't even abuse knives meant for it like a Busse FBM. I just wanted to make sure if something meant to be worked like a Bushcraft broke while being used I wouldn't be sunk. If so, I was going to try and find something from Busse or the like.

Nothing looks like it will work as well in the field like these Kosters though.

Well I've got a Bushcraft in 3V enroute. Hopefully, it is as good as they are heralded.

Just keep in mind that everything is a trade off. You can't have a knife that is so thin that it slices like and exact-o knife, and yet you can pry with. On the other hand, most knives that you would pry with don't slice very well.

A bushcraft blade should be used with bushcraft skill  I am only saying that because there should be no reason to side load the tip while dug into hardwood. For example, if you are making a fireboard you should use the edge at the tip to cut in a circular motion, not just pop it out sideways.

With all that said, Dan's knife will take care of you!
