True North Knives has a few Warren Thomas rebladed Emersons. They have a titanium and carbon Fibre laminated blade. Does anyone have any experience with this type of blade? I'm concerned about long term durability/stability of the lock mechanism. I wonder how fast the titanium lock surface will wear away the carbon fibre? I do like the side the blade is ground on, especially for a right handed user.

i just looked, and there aren't any pics of the lock engagement.

i would hope there is something other than the cf for the lock to hit. the lock may not engage until the ti portion of the blade, though.

i had an old bm 970 st, ti w/ carbide edge.

not the best cutter, very toothy edge.

The lock will seat itself in the CF first then into the Ti.
My 7 reblade is over a year and the lock bar is still in the CF.
Let me clarify that my WT7 is G-10 and titanium.

Warren Thomas stands behind his work. I wouldn't worry about ever having problems with a repair if ever needed.
