Hi Folks

Though some of you would like to see the Drum I just finished. The frame is well over 100 years old, steam bent ash that was originally a grain sieve. The head is rawhide dyed and painted then aged. The Thunderbird design is pre white contact found on woodland medicine bags. The red spots represent red hail. Hail was a charm of sorts that made a warrior invisible to his enemy. Crazy Horse painted himself with yellow hail when going into battle. Hope you enjoy. The Drum has a great voice.

Best regards

Robin

Awesome drum, artwork and history Brother. I can hear it from here!.....Randy

Thanks Bro
I used to make 100s of drums a year and got a bit burnt out on them so it's fun to make them once in a while. Now, back to war clubs ;-))

Bro. R

Thanks guys, forgot about this thread, been going crazy making stuff so haven't been here as much.

Best regards

Probably like most everyone else on here, I developed a deep fascination with the gunstock war club after seeing Last of the Mohicans. Always get that shot of adrenaline whenever I see one.

I love them too, such an elegant shape. I plan on making many more in the next while, just seaching for some nice wood. Next on the list is a rare plains gunstock, they were much shorter and quite radical looking.

Robin
