To start with I'll say, I have the Green Beret in both the 5.5" and the 7" blades, I have 2 Neil Roberts Warriors...1 to wear and use and 1 still NIB. I have the Busses Hell Razor, Heavy Heart, and the Satin Jack limited addition s/n 20X.
So, The CRK GB and NR's are basically designed for military type of operations and won't probably see a whole lot of tree chopping and camp building (but they could). The 7" GB would be more of a "survival knife" then the other two since the longer blade would help in chopping and splitting plus they have the serrations that some think is necessary for a "survival knife".
The Busse knives are made for much more robust usage as in chopping, digging, splitting logs with a baton, and are supposed to take a hell of a beating before needing the edge resharpened. Jerry Busse, I think, challanges any other knife maker to go side by side and see who lasts the longest.
I guess all of this is to say....If the knife is only going to be used under military conditions then that is what the CRK blades are made for.
But if you just want a knife that you can go out and beat the hell out of it and still ask for more then consider the Busse line of knives. FWIW, the Heavy Heart could almost to marketed as a "logging tool"....very heavy and stout!
CRK= S30V stainless CPM steel
Busse= INFI carbon steel that is very tough.
Hope this helps some.
Ciao
