That is certainly what appears to me to have happened in the case of this new, Chinese made, 3C13Cr bladed, :barf:-color "G10" handled, Ka-Bar:

What's your take on it?

At least they don't call the blade (3C13Cr) "high carbon stainless". I wonder how 3C13Cr compares to 420J2.:thumbdn:

Who knows, might turn out to be a comfortable knife to use that you aren't afraid to bang around and loan to your non knife buddies.

Does anyone have an exact composite on 3C13Cr ... or ... 3Cr13 ... or what-ever the steel is supposed to be? I'd just like ta' put it on my ever growing list of steel compositions.

WOOK

I just ordered the clip point bladed one from Knifecenter. 14 bucks, what the heck. At least good enough for riding in the glove compartment.
I'm curious about that type of steel. Seems like CRKT uses it some. It can't be that good...

It's a high chromium steel from what I gather ,I'm sure the steel is servicable and workable , it's just not something fancy.

The knife itself however , I handled some similiar KaBar folders at Big5 and while they looked cool enough to catch my eye they were of shoddy quality.
