Maybe this item has been discussed before but if so, I missed it. I was at a gun show over the week-end and this guy had a sharpener called "Warthog"; quite a contraption. To make a long story short, I ,with some trepidation, handed him my 10 day old(to me) Benchmade Dejavoo. He put tape on blade to avoid scratches and proceeded to use the Warthog. I have to admit he got it super sharp! Has anyone had any experience with this item? Not sure what it would be like over the long run; think it had 3 settings and some add ons at additional cost. As I recall he was asking around $100 for it. Just curious.

There are two warthog sharpeners, the v-sharp (what you saw) and the multisharp

I have the multisharp. Ain't bad, but scratching up your knife is a real possibility on either.

The v-sharp only allows for a few angles, if that doesn't bother you, it's dead nuts easy to use and requires no skill.

The multisharp is a bit harder to use, but does keep a consistent angle. You can supply your own stone.

The real question is, did it get your knife sharp at an angle that your knife can keep sharp? If so, and you aren't going to get nutty about sharpening, it's probably safe for you to go with it.
