I recently received a brand new Kabar Warthog in the mail courtesy of Bladite :D :thumbup: I am thankful and excited to beat the crap out of it. ;) I will write a review and post it later in this thread. (waiting for a BK-10) THERE WILL HOPEFULLY BE PICS!! :o Thanks again Bladite! And like my good friend once said, "That is all that I have to say about that." -Forest Gump.

wow @!!! didn't think Bladite had it in him......... :)

excuse me? :) he won my secret contest ;) so he wins! prizes from my personal stash. boo yah.

i've been sending out knives like crazy ;0 just not everybody dances around about it :P

fortunately, some of them also don't know about this place ;) some of my lady friends really like Remoras. they're so cute.

Well I battoned a little bit and the blade had a slight wobble. It didn't bother me to much, but then I continued to baton and chop some alders and now, it has major side-to-side wobble. :( Didn't feel much like reviewing after that. This ones going back to Kabar. Maybe I just got a fluke.

sounds like you broke it with your AWESOMENESS :) yeah, call them up, send it back. Toooj will want to see this. cut it apart. all that.

hey, mine from Moose has a little blade play too. havent beat on it yet but i will... see what happens. i was tempted to just either pump some epoxy into the handle to see if that helped, or take the handle off entirely and see whats what.

Yeah, there's a problem with the handles on Warthogs and the Grass Machetes, they get loose fast.

I've talked to Toooj at Kabar about them, and what he said was that the blade is safe, it just gets loose. They don't know why its happening, but they are finding out and fixing it.

A short run of these got out before they got caught, so there are some out there. As long as the grommet is in the handle, the blade can't come out. The grommet hole and pin, are through the tang.

With so many Toooj handled models, its possible that they injected the handle for another blade, or something, either way, if you wish to return it, contact Kabar, and make arrangements.

Hate this happened ya'll.

Collectors Editions :)

Yeah, the Kabar is spelled backwards too. :D

No, that's not how we get down around here, its a problem and its being fixed.

Since this is kinda the defacto Warthog thread, here's something recent from Toooj:

The handles for the warthog are attached by the lanyard grommet at the end of the handle. If you drill out the grommet, you can slide off the handle. Of course, it is the grommet that secures the handle to the tang so a replacement tube will have to be inserted and swedged for the handles to be secured. You could also secure the handle with a strong adhesive such as epoxy.

seems if the tangs are not broken, is a good chance to make new beefy handles :) G10 anyone?
