Hey guys,

I came across Alan's work via Fiddleback (like I would assume most of us have). I'm a huge fan of his blade designs and craftsmanship but from what I've seen (and I've looked through the majority of the threads on the form + the current line up) most of Alan's medium blades are at the '3 to '3 1/2 inch mark. I'm personally more of a '4 to '4 1/4 type of guy for my primary user blade. I know I've seen some XL versions of his stuff but I feel like I have to be missing something. Can you guys point me in the direction of some of his 4 inch blades? (currently I have my eyes on the Badger as I like having both a little pointy and a little belly)

Thanks

Can't direct you to other models, but I'm excited about the Badger he is finishing up for me - great size and blade shape.

I have a Badger and love it. IMO, a great blade profile. A++ fit and finish!!!

You might look at the Bush Adder. In the hand, it is a lot more blade than the specs suggest.

The Badger is a good one, but dont overlook the Patriot.

Martin - that badger is beautiful. How's the balance in hand? Good combination of being able to handle a combination of fine and more robust work? Do you know how long the blade and handle measure?

Roemer1 - The Bush Adder looks like a fine blade and there's a couple glowing reviews here on the form. I just have XL sized mits and tend to need a larger handle + like my blade right around 4 inches.

bonafide - I'm a huge fan of the Patriot/Minuteman blade shape. It reminds me a lot of the FB Kephart... I hope Alan decides to do an XL version with a blade somewhere between 4 and 4.25 inches. I know I'd buy one in an instant.

Same here, 4"-5" range spear or drop point with a bit of belly. Badger seems to fit that criteria.
