Was a full sized old style Spyderfly trainer ever released?

Over on the balisong forum, there is some discussion of this trainer:

This appears to be similar to the trainer in the 2007 product guide:

What's the story? Is it a counterfeit? Is it a poorly updated online store? Was there an international release? We're all quite curious.
 
I'll come over and try to clear it up, but no, it was planned, but never actually released.
