Hey all,

My very first piece of infi was the Hell Razor, which was an awesome knife but I wanted something more "realistic" for day to day use in the field to strap onto my LBV/pistol belt. So I traded it for a BAIII which is an awesome all around use knife.

However, I saw the ST-56 and was like "I HAVE TO HAVE IT" and so I traded a BAIII for a ST-56.

Dont get me wrong, I am VERY HAPPY with the trade, I wouldn't change anything about the trade. However do you guys realistically think having this blade around on my person in the field and for deployments is realistic? One thing is for sure, the second I take it out, people will jump out of its way. Or just call me "look at the idiot LT who wants to be rambo." :D

Can I still use it for utility you think? Do use think it will lend itself well for general purpose?

There are alot more BAIII out there then st-56s. You can always get yourself another badger or something similar and keep the 56

Despite its menacing looks, I think the ST-56 will be a fine field knife.

I'd say the BA-III for ST-56 was a great trade. Comparing original prices the ST is $60 more. It's also a mil. overrun instead of a regular production run.
As long as the ST-56 isn't too big to carry, I'd GO FOR IT! And as for the maroon that may call you an idiot, well, I believe you have to be an idiot to call someone an idiot. (The work-around for this delema is to refer to these types of folks as ID-10-T errors. :D)

You answered your own question, If you "had to have it", then be very happy and to H*LL with anyone and what they think of you. Life is too short to worry what others think. Live your life your way, have "no regrets" (cause little or no grief to others) and some people may even come to respect that.

It's only a stupid trade if you're unhappy with the outcome ;)

I was just waiting for someone to say this. It applies to all trades, regardless of the initial cost, rarity, usability, or collectability of the knives involved.

I think they just may say look at the idiot LT....with the really cool knife! You can't spell LosT without a "LT";) From the lower enlisted to you with love!

LOL I used to be one of you guys a few years ago...a e-2 COOK, now that was LOW on the totem pole.

  Having owned both, I'll keep my 56. Good trade.

The 56 is a grand knife.

YES. From the title "Was I dumb? Trading a ST-56 for BAIII? " :D
