Was/is there a lanyard hole option on the 110?

I've seen several older 110's on flea bay that have a lanyard hole thru the rear bolsters. Now I've seen another in an old movie. In this flick the "Bad Guy", Tommy Lee Jones pulls out what looks to be a 110 and starts cleaning his finger nails. And there it is, a lanyard hole in the butt.

So my question is, was this ever a standard feature/option on the 110's as on some of the other Buck fixed blades like the 124. Or was it just a common mod done by its owners. OR....am I in the Twilight Zone and this is the same knife that just keeps reappearing?

If it was standard, then I guess I'll have to find out in what period it was done. And then......... OH NOOOO! Another version 110 to hunt down. :D

Thanks for any input Mike.

On a standard production 110, no they have never been offered with a lanyard hole.

I asked about having one put on inthe custom shoppe once and was told no because it is difficult to do without messing up the knife.

I see lots on Ebay that have had one drilled into it, but aftermarket.

Some of the near-identical clones have lanyard holes; some even have bails...

Yeah, I 've always wondered why a Schrade 6OT can come with a lanyard hole, but a Buck 110 can't.

I've never dissasembled both, so I don't know how much different they are inside...???????

The 110 spacer (or whatever it was that Joe calls it) doesn't have a lot of room for another hole...there's two rivet holes; a slot for the backspring; and not much else...you could convert a rivet hole to a lanyard or bail hole, but I found out that that particular piece of steel is hard!... :p
