I got really lucky winning the lottery with a room full of people!!!

It was the greatest feeling when my name was called!!

The show was excellent and got a chance to see alot of awesome knives & was able to speak with the makers.

Here are a few pictures of my newest XM 18 3inch slicer.

I also added the FDE scale and Bronze Standoffs. It originally came with the Translucent Scale. It looked really Nice but I think it looks better with the FDE scale. ;-)

I really love the FDE in every which way!! :-)

I'm definitely going to put bronze spacers in mine because it's looking awesome on yours, may even put an FDE brown scale on it until I get my titanium scale DLC coated FDE.
Oh, I finally picked up another DLC coated 3" that came from the same show that was won by TuffThumbz, should be here next week.

Congrats on your new XM 18 FDE!! I was offered to buy that one at the show but since I just bought mine I didn't go for it. I'm glad you got it, now you can use the heck out of the one you have now and save this one for later on ;-) Yes the bronze standoffs really set it off! I would like to get a Ti bronze scale for mine but the FDE G10 works really nice also. Good luck with your new addition.
 
If my opinion carries any weight...I'll throw my vote to the "looks advantage" on that DLC 3 to the FDE over translucent G10.

I'm a fan of the DLC coated XMs, especially the FDE DLC 24s that a few here photo-post to torment me.
 
Nice looking knife but I'm going against the grain here, I'm not keen on a DLC blade, cut anything substantial and the blade will be marred.

IMO DLC looks great but is impractical for a blade, I have yet to see one of these ever being used which I suspect is for the reason I point out above.

If I ever score one, I'll use the p-i-double s out of it!

Scratches don't stop the performance. Ever notice my EDCs I photo-post are dirty, scratched, etc.? A DLC in my possession would look loved, trust that.
 
I'm definitely of the mind that blades that looked used, look better. Shows character.

I'm not a fan of FDE as a color in general, but it sure looks purrdy!! I might have to change my ways. :)
