Today i was going to buy a new edc to rotate in with my sebenza. It was from another company which i dont care to name, but was around 400.00. So i started to read some threads about this knife and read about poor q.c and liner locks that didnt seat right, and blades that came thru less than sharp. I t brings me back to the days before my sebenza, when i used to search for that perfect knife. latley ive taken my sebbie for granted, and assumed all high end knife have now caught up to sebenza perfection, but as i can tell from other threads things havent changed all that much in the knife world. So for now there is only one knife company for me, chris reeve knives; because i enjoy perfection.

are you referring to mw? yes, I've read about some of the problems...but I think the styling and ergonomics are quite different.

I do agree about the sebenza setting the standard tho', a lot of customs aren't built as well as the sebenza either.

I know which one your talking about & I have it in my hands right now :D

I re-posted anopther take on them yesterday....still not that favorable

It really has a excellent fit for my hand & I like the look of it & the handle, thumb ramp, blade.....BUT.....

It needs to have the option of: my likes & dislikes:

--tip UP, which it doesn't

--reversable pocket clip for lefty or righties

--it has a smooth divot like part on the handle so the righties can open it easier with the thumb stud...however, the lefties are not as fortunate. While YES, it has a dule thumb stud....the lefties don't have that divot which makes it a pain to try & open :grumpy:

--the blade while being a thicker design, which I like....still doesn't come sharp from the factory. Of course those who are good at sharpening don't have to worry, but I am not good at it & therefore it is a real pain!

--Questionable "hand made" issues. I was told that they only make 1 1/2 folders a day. If this is true, I don't see how they can be letting crap out of the factory, which obviously they have been doing. I have heard & this is only a "rumor", that MW is having a couple of other knifemakers to assist them in making the blades & such. I was also told that MW wasn't at Blade this year. Could it be because they really shouldn't be putting there name on something that they themselves aren't making but other knife makers are for them? Who really knows...& I don't really care. All I know is, for $400, your NOT getting a knife that is worth that much. Maybe 1/2 that amount...maybe & that to me is a BIG maybe. $400 will get you a kickin arse Sebenza that you know is P-E-R-F-E-C-T!

MW Lachesis is really a great knife, but MW has to do a better job with their quality issues before I could ever recommend them to anyone else. I prefer the feel of the knife over the Sebenza any day, but the MW isn't smooth like butter like the Seb. Nor can you take it apart like the Seb. If it were, THEY would be on a backorder like the Sebenza's & people might really flock to them. Seeing that they are kinda new to the folder seen, maybe they will improve in the near future....maybe not. Only time will tell.

After years of searching for the perfect EDC, only 2 brands have truly stood out from all the others. CRK is one of them.
....and BTW, the perfect EDC hasn't been built yet.
