Skunk,

Is there really a CG SAR-8 coming before xmas? cuz if so I will need to scratch someone off my xmas list this year. Let me kno, cuz I am going shopping next week...

You never know with Skunk...

Hoping we'll see CG with micarta, and a lot lower price to go with it. SAR8's look like the perfect camp knife, but I ain't paying the satin tax.

The CG would typically be coated, and without a fully blended zero edge. It would PROBABLY have a v-ground edge.

The satin SE and LE SAR8's had polished bare metal blades and full zero edges, where the convex primary grind is blended seamlessly into the edge.
 
Not worth it to me - I'm gonna have to sharpen the thing anyway, and it's easier to sharpen when I don't have to worry about the zero edge looking ugly :D :p
 
whoa! all i said was "Christmas Editions" kinda like ornaments for your tree but heavier. this is all second hand info anyway...
