Hello, I'm curious if the AXIS lock has ever been featured in a knife magazine like Knifeworld or Blade? I tried looking but haven't found anything. I'm curious if there was an article or something written around the release of it.

Thanks all

Tactical Knives did an article on BM710 when it first came out. This was around 1997
or 98. I love the Axis lock!!!

Cool, you wouldn't happen to know if they have an online version somewhere would you?

Knives Illustrated did an feature article on the 710 and the Axis Lock about 20 years ago too.

Get in touch with whoever is in charge of comms at Benchmade. They might well have access to an archive.

I bet Benchmade will have article. I am an old man(67) now but the Axis lock is great! Tactical knives is out of business now but I was a long time subscriber and Steven Dick wrote the article. You might try contacting him. He lives in Washington and has farm there. I was sad when tac. Knives closed as it was a great mag. I have a 707 Sequel and . it has the Axis lock it was the 2nd model that featured this lock. This 707 is about 15 years old and I bought right after I retired. It has been opened thousand of times and the lock has worked perfectly. I own about 50 Benchmade knives! Along with as many Spydercos. This is an addicting hobby but I love it and the people I have met and Forum members here fine folks with same love of knives.

Thanks for the info! I love the Axis lock as well, it's my favorite locking mechanism. I trying to find a 707, I love the mini grip so I'm sure I'll like the 707.

Try Ebay. I have got a few good knives there like 2 original Hen and roaster knives. Also, some dealers may have a 707. I have my old one and 2 special ones that I like..Also,3 mini grips with different steels and one w/g10 grips. Good luck.
