i went to walmart and picked up the kershaw funxion emt. blade has a ton of play, has no rubber insert in the handle? the lock for the seatbelt cutter arm doesnt want to engage. the lock for the carabiner doesnt want to engage. i dont think it has a bearing to hold the carabiner in place.... the blade doesnt sit centered when its closed.

long story short, the walmart close to me is kind of crappy so i wouldnt doubt it if some of the very first ones produced are still sitting there, what do you guys think? did i get an old one did i get a dud? or is it just legitimately a terrible knife? also the blade says 3cr13 when the website and basically everywhere says the knife is 8cr13mov obviously they cut off the mov part but how do i explain the completely different steel?

I'd shoot kershaw an email with your concerns. They have always taken really good care of me the few times I have contacted them

Thanks that answered my questions perfectly. I'm gonna go try to exchange it later today and hope I did just get a dud. I really like the feel and style of the knife and everything it's just those few things that totally kill it
Carrying over from your other thread; the simpler a knife, the more solid it becomes. Also price factors in a lot even with stellar companies like Kershaw. Ya get what ya pay for.

The Funxion EMT is a solid knife. I got one a while ago online. The wally world exclusive should still work as good as the original. Hopefully you got a dud. Happens to everyone, even an awesome company like Kershaw. If you can't exchange it right away, give Kershaw a call. They'll do right by you.
