Was the plain FSH flat or Saber grind?

I was looking at The Busse Collector site and saw that the first FSH was 0.25" thick and weighted 19oz.

With a 8" blade it sounds like a great all rounder.

But was wondering was this 0.25" thick version a saber grind or a flat grind?
Did it come in both?

The picture shown on The Busse Collector (brown blade with orange/black g10 or mircata handle) looks like a full flat grind.

I have seen some on sale in the exchange forum that are saber grind.

I do know that the HHFSH and the HOGFSH are saber (0.27", 0.31"), but I was thinking that the 19oz version would make a fantastic EDC one do all.

I myself like full flat grinds for good slicing ability.

Any thoughts on how it handles from people that have used them would be appreciated.

Cheers.

The original concept of the Fusion Steel Heart, as seen on Bad Mojo, was a saber grind. But the released version had a flat grind. Jerry then came out with the Heavy Heart that was not only a saber grind but mic out at 0.27".

I had a .25 flat grind FSH and agree at 19 oz's it is a great all rounder ....

The heavier ones at 23-24 oz's do have a bit more chopping power tho' and are not too heavy carry wise .... for a lighter knife at the same weight as the .25 FSH and allowing for the price being a bit cheaper I like the NMSFNO .... mainly because it is easy to do a full convex grind on .... and this makes it a very effective chopper for it's weight.

The Heavy Ordinance Fusion Steel Heart wasn't a saber ground, its a full height grind.

The standard, and original, release of the FSH was neither saber or full height. It was an anomaly. The grind doesn't go the full height of the blade nor does it end part way up. It seems to vanish par way up the blade. And its not a full .25, it seems to vary from .22 to .24, and seems to be a product of the grinding protocol. No, its not full convex either.

That was an interesting time at Busse evidently. :D

Pic of all three models offered in the original line, and yes, thats an E handle logo on the standard handle FSH. :)

Your very welcome. :) I was there in the transition and it was an interesting time in Busse history. The FSH didnt come out till much later yet there the old logo is, kind of a nod to the past. That particular FSH will be handed down.

Sorry, meanderings of an old school Busse fan, not too proud of the present, but proud none the less.
