Does anyone know if the Schrade Jernigan folder was made.It was a collabration between Steve Jernigan and Schrade. If it was made does anyone know who has them and how many was made?

I very much doubt this knife was ever actually made, although here is a photo of it, from a Schrade advertising flier. I have gone ahead and Emailed Mr Jernigan, asking him the question. I'll post his answer when it gets to me.

Phil,
You are on a hot streak (also known as "en fuego") with the information, as of late. It's good to see you slough your shy skin, and be so outgoing..... :D

Good Rep points to follow.

Oh, that is a beautiful pelt in that picture.....was that done with your 6OT XTimer?

Regards,

Bill

I received a very gracious reply from Mr. Jernigan this evening. In fact, the original in the photo above, from the advertising flyer, is in pocession of the maker. Mr. Jernigan made it for the company to replicate.

But there were two prototypes put together by a Schrade engineer for the 2003 SHOT SHOW. Two of 'em, guys, whereabouts unknown. I'd like to see one of them placed into the factory collection, now in custody of SMKW. You can guess where I'd like to see the other one. As I wrote to Mr. Jernigan, these things always have a way of coming to the surface, one way or the other, sooner or later. I guess I have answered your question, Robb, and I thank you for bringing it up. Please don't be a stranger to the Schrade forum.

Now for El Lobo... No, Bill, I did not skin the critter in the photo above. But I did skin this one, with the swept blade Fontier, hours after I had gutted it with the dropped hunter also shown. My cat enjoys sleeping on the hide.

Very nice, Phil.....you are still "en fuego".... :D

Looks like a Ruger in the picture.....I have a New Model Blackhawk in my.. errr, ahh.."collection"....they make a very good handgun, in my opinion.

By the way, thanks for the trade. Glad it worked out for both of us.

Oh yeah, that Jernigan is quite nice. I wonder if UH Fan knows anything about that one?

Thanks for the info Phil.Only 2 knives so I only have 2 chances, slim & none.

Hey ROBB,
Don't give up hope yet.....there are actually three , if we count the one Mr. Jernigan still has.... ;)

So I guess that improves our odds a little.

I'm gonna keep hoping, because it's a very cool knife.

Bill
Feeling OPTIMISTIC today.

I think Phil has already gotten dibbs on the original, knowing him.
So I think your down to 1.

Hi!

Apparently some were made because one sold on eBay yesterday for $270. Would you believe the seller picked it up at a yard sale? No joke. That's what he said. We should all be so lucky!

I can e-mail you the posting if you're interested.

Thanks!

Bryce

Oops!

Sorry about that. It was a Barnett that sold on eBay yesterday, not a Jernigan. What a beauty! Wish I could have afforded to bid on it.
