In the standard line, we have:

BK-1 Brute
BK-2 Campanion
BK-3 TacTool
BK-4 Machax
BK-5 Magnum Camp
BK-6 Patrol Machete
BK-7 Combat Utility
BK-9 Combat Bowie
BK-10 Crewman
BK-11 Necker

The numbering skips, and I don't recall hearing of the BK-8. Sombody clue me in, here. I found this one hint in a past thread...

"BK-8 was an experimental aircraft "egress" knife made for a military trial.
It was not the winner due to cost I believe."

True?

Correct.

The Helicopter Egress was a sample submitted for a Government need. it was a rapidly developed prototype, designed by commitee, intended to perform too many tasks in a single design. Ethan Becker was not involved in it, hence the lack of finese, style and appeal.
Cost was surely a factor in it's demise.
I believe I made a total of 5 of them.

Behold! The Becker Holy Grail.....

It seemed like a good idea, but the saw teeth don't seem appropriate for the application. I like the small scale serrations. Neat knife. Maybe not an ideal helo egress knife, but it could appeal to other markets easily. I'd buy one for outdoor fun.

I have seen a picture of a army issued Becker. Is was a BK-2 Campanion whit a partly serrations edge. Not sure of the name but it had a NSN number and some text on the blade. But this is surely not the BK-8!

Got to se i really hope Becker makes a restart after the Camillus cooperation. I hope they find a good production partner and keep the current line-up or even make more models. I love my BK-7 workhorse!!!

Can't post pics. I guess someone could post my scans.
The one I have looks just like the one above. The sheath is od cordura w/kydex insert, small pouch w/diamond hone and was equipped with alice clips.
Very unique little unit.

I would like to see that knife with no serations or saw...looks like a smaller version of bk2....

I did a search and came up with another mention of BK-8 Spec Ops with a saw cut into the spine it sounds. He also say "I Guess BK8"

I would think Bladite would have one if it were ever made seeing as how he has everything else.

well, you flatterererer, but i don't have "everything else"... don't have a tac-tool, dive-tool, or the BK-10 crewman, nor some of the older variations. dang.

given that there's 5 of those BK-8s, well... not so much :> unless someone cares to donate ;)

but mmm, it looks a lot like an ugly BK-2 as people point out. a few minutes ramboizing it... yeah, i could have one ;) let's call it an inspirational version. heh heh.
