Was there a Canal Street Cutlery before the CSC that recently went under?

I've been looking at a grubby old knife with no mark on it but cSc stamped on the main tang. The "s" is actually lined up with the tops of the "c"s and dangles below. I can't find it in my old Levine.

Canal Street did not exist before 2004. When Imperial Schrade went under in 2004, former employees acquired a part of the Ellenville factory and started CSC.

Any pictures? CSC was used on some pre and post WW2 knives marked Made in Germany.

A picture would clarify a lot!
Southington used a version of what you described on this Barlow, but.....???

Sorry, no pictures. My phone actually doesn't do that.

Also silly question. cSc could be Canal Street Cutlery, or coal stove cutlery, or candy stripe, or cotton sheet... I had the notion I'd read somewhere that the 2004 CSC named itself after an old maker. [But I see from AG Russell that they took the name from the street the old factory is on.]

If I could subscript the S in cSc, that would be very close to the mark, except the letters are outlined like you could color them in. I'll try to remember to bring a camera next time.

Germany might be a good bet, since it has small steel blade-pins like many Germans I've got. It's a worn punch-stockman with jigged bone handles- doesn't narrow it down much.
