Oooh I like that idea!
Sal had mentioned they might do a sprint run of a G-10, VG-10 Caly3, but Ti would be awesome!
... and worth every cent of thatespecially with the new vaunted backlock
Think it's more a question of design goals. The Caly 3 and 3.5 were designed to be thin, light, and compact. That's why pins were used for the lockbar and backstrap. Screws would have been larger diameter which, in turn would have meant a thicker lockbar and backstrap and a bulkier knife. The new Native V style midlock may be incompatible with those characteristics in a similar manner. There's also the chance that Moki, good as they are at what they do, may just not be equipped to manufacture that particular lock which may rely more on a combination precision equipment and skilled workers than on "old school" craftsmanship alone. They are going to for the old Manix - but that is screw construction - which I suppose must bear on something - or at least the reason for the caly3 being pin
Don't recall seeing a pin construction Ti knife - still there's always got to be a first![]()
