I just got an Izzie today, but I stupidly got the nice bright orange Paracord dirty while re profiling it. How do I restore it toi it's original color? I was thinking tide+water+ziploc+shaking=clean? Any other ideas? I asked here because I know you guys are most likely to know. Thanks in advance!

I have lots of paracord lol. Just no Orange. It came with the knife. I dont see the need to waste paracord. But thats just me. I wouldn't say no to 100ft of orange though, I like how it POPS! Thanks all!

I had a knife with a paracord lanyard go through a complete cycle in the washing machine. It did not go through the drying cycle because the banging noise saved it. The knife was ok and the lanyard came out undamaged and significantly cleaner than before. I let it air dry and it was fine and without shrinkage. By the way, it was one of those new high efficiency machines and it was in the colors cycle.

Take the knife in the shower with you. Shampoo, rinse and repeat. If you have a shower massage, all the better, it will blast the dirt out. BE CAREFUL!

Been through the washing/drying, re-wrapping, etc. until I was sick of it. I was using mine to field dress deer so it was a no win situation. I now have the Izula scales. Win/win all the way around. Buy the scales and forget about the hastles that you had before.

i think it would be easiest to buy more paracord. paracord is always handy to have around

+1

Definitely just get more. I got some orange at redflarekits.com and it was very inexpensive. Get a couple different colors at once so you don't have to pay shipping again when you want more in a week and a half...

Great stuff to have and costs like 8$ for 100' so stock up!

Or you could always take a shower with it!

I have 500' feet in coyote.... just none in orange... I might pick some up... in the meantime, washing helped, and the wrap will dry tighter now that I did it with wet cord.

COOOL idea! Makes me think of the 24/7 Izula thread... maybe he should have worn it in the shower? :p

Yea it's to the point some people need to wear chain link gloves

Wrap the blade in tape! I have learned my lesson. Cheaper than the chain mail gloves.

I always like to save my old toothbrushes for little cleaning jobs like this. Add soap/detergent of your choice and scrub away.
