Anyone else ever accidentally throw their pants in the washer while an EDC was clipped in a pocket?

I fished my Hatamoto out before putting the load in the dryer. Thankfully the steel is stainless, and the blade is none worse for the wear, but very clean. :D

My Carbon Fiber Spyderco Cricket has been through the washer and dryer more times then I care to remember...

Yeah, I've washed an old Beretta Airlight and an Emerson CQC-7 on seperate occasions. Neither one was damaged. I just lubed them up afterwards and carried on.

oh yeah! I've washed spydercos, benchmades, some slippies.....etc, etc

All have survived just fine.

Ive washed an Endura3, it came out fine, and a Mcusta with cocobolo and damascus blade. It came out decent. The wood was dried out.

I don't particularly remember which ones and I think its been a few years since the last occurrence, but yeah, in the 47 years that I have been carrying a pocket knife, a few have gone through the laundry. I can't remember ever having one damaged by the occurrence.

I just washed a Spyderco Native yesterday. Luckily I saw it in the bottom of the washer. It is just fine!!!

My EDC goes into the shower everyday. I hope it doesn't get rusty.

Out of curiousity, why is this?

My thinking is that if my EDC knife can't take a time or two through the washer and dryer, it's probably not worthy of being an EDC knife. I try and take good care of my knives, but I also don't want to have too baby them!

I have a small Case peanut that was a present for being in a wedding. It made a trip through the washer which resulted in one of the smooth bone scales loosening its pins. It also made one of the blades very hard to open.

I also put my first generation Spyderco Vesuvius through the wash. It basically disassembled itself by about 50%. I found all but one screw and put it back together. I keep meaning to contact Spyderco and see i I can get a replacement screw.

Sounds like all of you have had better experiences than I have.
