I had not been able to find my 14 boys knife for a couple days. My pup had eaten my good pair (not so good anymore) of Levi jeans, and I thought I had removed all of my gear. Well, I had to run several loads of laundry through the wash, and heard a loud clunking sound, like rocks being thrown at the back of the dryer. What was it? My 14! It had made it's way through the washing machine, and into the dryer. The patina was bluish in color, really neat looking, I couldn't get the looks on my iPhone. Anyway, out came the Flitz, cleaned it up the best I could.

I wouldn't recommend the washing machine patina, or the dryer patina, I got tired of listening to the knocking around sound, it was only in the dryer for about five minutes, if that long. I've got some pepper spots on the blade and springs, but that's about it (those came from riding around in fat guys shorts during the summer).

First it was my Case Damascus peanut. Now my 14. I'm beginning to see a pattern.

I have to pay more attention...

Oh no! I did the same thing with my 2012 Bladeforums Trapper. No patina, but it did loosen the covers and shield. Luckily "Sir Glennbad" was able to nurse it back to it's original condition. I am actually surprised I haven't done it more often.

My family and I moved recently and the wife has a brand-new washer and dryer, top of the line and (too) expensive. I shudder to think of the backlash from letting a knife rattle around in her new toys. But glad to hear your 14 survived its circular journey.
