Most welcome. I'm looking at a move (home, after too long) to beautiful Washington, and so have been taking an interest in such things.

Do holler out if you have specific questions whose answers aren't clear in the code (and I can imagine a whole fistful of questions that wouldn't be!). Not that I know the answers, you know--I'd just like to hear them come from someone who actually knows what they're talking about!

Not the way I read it--if you're talking about a true auto knife, rather than an assisted opener (though I don't know how that distinction holds up in Washington, either).
