Thanks for all the nice comments.

Tom, you know me , so you know what they're for- the LED flashlight built into the front, NOT!!!:D

Liong, the inlays in the large one are European Red Stag (or deer), the small one has snakewood inlays.

Jerry, it's all work, just some easier than the other. These are my first in ATS-34 and I'm not sure that I like it that well. Don't polish as well as 440-C IMHO.

KWM, they won't be that shiney when they come back from BBRN (Billy Bates). The large one definately, not sure on the small one yet.

Jerry,
I noticed when polishing and changing direction that the scratches from the previous grit seemed coarser and harder to smooth out than it should've been. In fact, it looked like I wasn't getting them out all the way. Meaning, I would get the scratches out but two finer grits later, it looked like I didn't. Am I crazy or is that the nature of ATS?

Well Steve, you ARE crazy, but that has nothing to do with it... :)

I've not worked with enough 440C to know what you mean. I do know that you can't skip through the belts quickly with 154CM. You need to get them looking scratch free at every grit from 220 on. My final prepolish is with a cloth belt and dark green compound, before going to the buffer. That generally erases those last few "where the hell did that come from" scratches.

Here's a 154CM mirror
