i have oh i dont know, about 1000 liters of synthetic used engine oil lying around. Kinda wanted to (really piss of the al gore types) use the waste oil and burn it for heat for camping.

anyone make their own waste oil drip burners? tips?

You can make an oil and water burning device. It relies on a constant slow drip of both. Make a pinhole in a can of both and a track to direct it onto a burning surface.

Careful, you'll be dealing with flammable liquids use a small quantity first.

i thought about that method, works GREAT for olive oil.....but i got a LOT of waste oil to get rid of here.........i'm thinking something with a little more OOOMPPPH! to it.

+1 This type of flame burns really hot. You could try popping a wick in one brazier style. Also, not sure if it would work but you could get a cheap hurricane lantern and see if it'll burn it. The only issue I foresee is what you intend to burn, tends to burn DIRTY and STINKY.
