Well not completely. I have been wanting to polish my 25 blue thumb stud for a while so I searched for the correct method. Seemed easy enough. Well it was after I got polishing compound for my Dremel. I spent an hour trying different polishers on my Dremel until I found my polishing compound. What do you think? The 25 thumb studs really have a high gloss up against the Lisa pick thumb studs. I think I am going to polish them out as well.

Dremel 421 polishing compound. It was crazy how fast the blue came off after I got the right stuff.

You will need to tape off all areas that you do not want polished. no issues at all

On a different note, I have a large 21 carbon fiber with a single blue thumb lug. I have been thinking of removing the blue but wasn't sure how you deal with the other dimple side. Has anyone had any success?

Do you just use blue painter's tape to protect the blade or is there something better? Definitely been wanting to give this a shot and then this thread popped up with all the details as far as the compound etc.. Thanks for the info. Any further suggestions are appreciated, thanks everyone.

Awesome post, AK! I had been wanting to do this to my 25 and this method works great and is pretty simple to do. I like the silver hardware and lugs on pretty much all my Sebs and it looks especially fitting on the 25 IMHO. You are absolutely right about the compound taking the blue right off, it was a pretty effortless process. I've got a small cf scaled Seb coming my way that I may try this on as well. Thanks again for the post, I appreciate the info! Here is the result...

I took off the blue from the studs on my 25 also. Really easy, used a dremel, but using painters tape is a must.
Only problem is that the blue along the edge that is flush with the blade is extremely hard to remove. I didnt want to use too much pressure with the dremel in fear of marring the blade.

I used regular desk tape and moved it back ever so slightly on the last pass to knock down the blue closest to the blade. Came out great.
