Hey watch gurus... I have a couple of 1960's Omegas that belonged to my father and gradfather, and I am wondering how common they are and how much they may be worth. I am not really intersted in selling them, just curious.
First is an Omega Speedmaster Chronograph that I believe is from from 1967-1969, it does not have the moon face back and is manual wind, also it does not have the origional steel bracelet
. Some history on this watch, from my mothers best recolection, she purchased this watch on base for my father when he was going into flight school in the Army. He then wore it through two tours in Viet Nam flying Huey's in the 1st Air Calvalry. When he gave it to me it was not running and pretty beat up, I have had it returned to working order and cleaned, but I did have them keep the origional domed plexy crystal on it.
The second is an Omega that I can't really figure out. It is gold plated and the face just says Electronic, from what I can remember my grandfather telling me years ago, it was given to him in the early 70's and it uses a tuning fork mechanism (you can actually here it humming) instead of a quartz crystal. It's in pretty good shape and runs fine, unfortunately this one does not have the origional band either. That is about all I know on this one.
No pictures of either of them at this time.
Thanks in advance guys,
Patrick
