I need a new watch. I have always wanted a Rolex Submariner Date, but my wife wants to buy me one for our 15th wedding anniversary which is in 3 years. I work at a bank that deals with auto dealerships. Most of my clients wear Rolexs, Breitlings, Omegas, etc. I would like to purchase a brand-new watch now, but want to keep the price under $3000.00. I cant find the prices or costs for any of these types of watches on the internet? Anyone have any ideas of prices and or models I should look at? I need to try to keep up with the Jones.

Please share any ideas or suggestions

Thanks - Ron

I switch between a Breitling Chrono Avenger and a TAG Heuer Aquagraph 2000. I paid full boat for the Breitling ($2,550, with bracelet) because I wanted to buy from an authroized dealer and they have to sell for retail. I got a deal on the TAG, it's usually $2,750, but it shouldn't be hard to find someone who will work with you on the price.

Both are big, solid, manly watches, and both are in your price range. I get a lot of comments on the Breitling because (certain) people immediately recognize that it is titanium, but I actually like the TAG better.

Have fun, there are a lot of good watches in the sub-$3,000 range, I envy you, I'd like to be able to shop for a new watch. One other thing - pop into your local Costco on a regular basis, they get some limited amounts of pretty good watches. As is normal for Costco, they might get a certain watch once and never again, so you have to jump when you see something you like. I'm still kicking myself for passing up a Omega Dynamic Chrono at Costco for $625.

sinns look pretty good to me, or omega.

i have seen rolex subs for ~$3K though if thats what ya want, ya gotta look though & it wont be brand new, might look brand new though.

Nice watch............I have around 20 watches of decent quality but nothing close to that beauty!

Enjoy...........gotta loves watches, right after knives lol

Kap

p.s. I have my eye on a Tag at costco...........lol

Thanks alot for the nice comments, it was the wife that pushed me to get it. :D

I'm pretty lucky to have her.

myakka is that a GMT master 11?? if so mine is exactly like that, great watch imho and i personally prefer the GMT to the sub.

the GMT is my fav sport watch of all, bar none, nothing else comes close for me.

ya can get a set of 3 bezels for them IIRC, one all black, one blue and red and one black and burgundy, i have heard they arent hard to swap, have been thinking of some myself, like 2 other watches, almost. i saw some on a watch forum, would be cool to have imho.

i'll have to look, but it was one of the better known watch forums that had a rolex sub-forum, watch zone/watch time/something like that i had it bookmarked and my PC crashed and i'm still looking for some stuff, i'll post if i can find it, sounded like a really good thing and IIRC it was claimed it wasnt hard to swap out either,

I have the same watch and although it is beautiful, mine is a bit finicky. How about yours? My Omega Speedmaster seems to be more of a workhorse.
