So this girl here in my local area when off into the woods on a cold night naked except for a fanny pack and a knife....

STEVENSON, Wash. -- The Skamania County Sheriff's Office resumed the search Tuesday morning for a 19-year-old camper who was last seen Sunday afternoon northeast of Yacolt, Wash.

Maureen Kelly, of Vancouver, was reported missing from Canyon Creek Campground shortly after midnight Monday, when she failed to return from a "spiritual quest."

Kelly was reportedly naked and had set out on the quest at about 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff's office. She had little in the way of supplies, only what would fit in a fanny pack.

Several search and rescue crew were looking for Kelly Monday afternoon. Search dogs tracked her scent into Canyon Creek and back out, but other than that searchers found no sign of her.

The search continued Tuesday. Crews were traversing the area on four wheel drive and ATV vehicles. The Sheriff's Office said they would decide Tuesday night if the search would continue Wednesday.

Now it is every guy's fantasy to find a naked chick in the woods. Sadly I believe this one will have a bad ending.

Part of me is gutted by the tragedy of this, but I have to admit to a certain feeling of 'what kind of air headed bint...'

So many people see nature as the distilled essence of Bambi, when it's really eau de Hannibal Lecter.

I knew an Algonquin who, as pert of a Canadian university project, walked into the Canadian wilderness
with absolutely nothing, and lived off the land for a year on only what was naturally there.

The difference is that he knew what he was doing.......the young lady in this story did not, and the effects
of her ill informed choices may be extensive.

In the context of someone walking into the woods without even her clothes on, I think my statement stands.

EDIT:
What i mean is that In nature, you're dealing with creatures that kill one another for food, have an innate sense of which berries are good and which berries are deadly, and can deal with the elements. A naked girl who is very likely in a state of blissed-out goshwow enjoys none of these benefits. In a survival of the fittest situation like that, everything may as well have been out to get her.

It's a pretty old and standard challenge among northwoods guides. Only twist here is the gender. A title nine success when women do this skeleton of thing

I have to agree with that. I hate too seem to jaded, and it is a tragedy that another young person is not going to grow up and go on with whatever life they may have had. But... it's just another perfect example of the Darwin theory at work. The world is not Peewee's play house nor is it Disney World. There are predators of all types, 4 legged and two, and then there are the natural dangers to boot. Changes in weather, a sudden slip, anything, and it's do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars. Nature is a wonderful thing to behold, but it's good to have a few basics along and some common sense. Hippy/yuppy back to nature ideal won't make it in the end. There's a certain number of people that are not going to make it all the way due to their own stupidity. I can only wonder what the hell the girls parents taught her growing up?

Nature is neither for or against you. It's not good or evil. It just is what it is.

Kind of going off tangent here but a TRUE "spiritual quest" will not do anything to harm the body or be irresponsible/reckless.

Heard the reports about this on the radio last week... She went naked because she's a bit of a nudist and figured no one would be around in the woods to care. She's also been called fairly spiritual by her friends. Basically she took off to do what she enjoys, not realizing that it was a bad idea.

Not crazy or on drugs, but definitely not smart...
