Hi all, I found a good deal on this watch, and was wondering what you fine folks thought of it...I am seriously considering getting it.
Never have owned a decent watch,I figure its time to get one,and at the price im getting it,its a steal.

So...
Whatcha think?!

Thanks,
mo

This is not exactly a decent watch, but rather something designed to LOOK like a decent watch.

You can get similar deals in knives, and they might look great, it all depends on your point of view.

P.S. most of us are not only knife snobs but watch snobs as well...

UM, Dunlop is not really known for its watches. Buying a Dunlop watch is sort of the same thing as buying an Adidas or Nike watch. Apparently their golf and tennis equipment is pretty good, but having never heard of Dunlop watches and never seeing an online review, (I looked), I would buy something else.

ok.
thanks for the help. watches are one thing that i dont know much about...but im not ready to drop the cash for an omega just yet.

i will keep looking.
thanks,
maurice

There is no such thing as a Dunlop watch.

This is a "generic" model that can be customized with your company logo, maybe to be used as a corporate gift etc. You can probably find exactly the same watch with different "names" on it.

Nike and Adidas watches, on the other hand, are genuine items, built by some other company under contract, following the exact specifications that Nike and Adidas choose.

If you are not ready for an Omega, I would suggest that you check Casio and Citizen as a good starting point.

Mo, depending on your pricepoint, Fortis is an excellent automatic watch. Vollmer is another fav, but hard to find in the US. Now if some buddy over in GREECE would find me a Ti Vollmer I would rename my fisrt son... Hey Costas!

Mo,
By all means, don't give up the search. There are quite a few solid choices available that are right at, or not too much above, your price point. You can get several of the Seiko dive watches new for just a little more than $200, and the new Citizen Eco-Drive technology is a pretty cool development on the quartz watch front. There are a million sites on the net that deal in Seiko and Citizen watches. Here's one from Australia that has what appears to be a pretty good deal ($259US) going on a titanium Citizen Eco-Drive chronograph:

Hi Mo
Have you ever looked in Smokey Mountain Knife Works catalogue
I picked up a 100M Wenger Swiss Army - all stainless steel for $35.00 ! plus shipping of course. - A good watch keeps time - that's all and you have to decide what you'll be wearing it for - all my watches in regular use are at least 100 m water resistant! I get wet a lot! and have never had a problem with Swiss Army - Omega - Rollex - or Casio ! there are lots of choices ! have fun - I also have a nickel allergy so I need stainless or plastic to keep the pain down.
