I've had a Suunto Vector for about 6 months now. I haven't been to happy with it, and so I am in the process of sending it back. At the risk of opening up a can of worms(Luminox Thread) what are some recommendations? This will be my every day watch, so it's gotta do more than just tell time. I have a Seiko for dress duty, so I'm looking for features here. I've heard good things about the G-Shocks, but I'm fishing for recommendations on anything you feel good. I'm looking in the under $200 range. Thanks ahead of time.

If you are looking for a "gadgety" watch for under $200, Casio is the way to go.

Good Evening All-

MyNameUsed, here is the result of a search using the search term "*watch" in the Gadgets & Gear section.

Many people have created similar threads, so I'm sure you'll get some excellent advice from the posters.

One of the first things you'll need to decide is whether you're going to go digital or analog and choose between quartz or automatic. You'll find tons of helpful information at TimeZone if your test runs towards automatics.

Mynames used,
I'm weighing in with another vote for the G - Shock, they have several good functions such as the 24 hr. clock, stopwatches, several kinds of countdown timers, and they make good dive watches. I've subjected mine to abuse underwater while mapping, and it survived without a scratch. I think they cost about $90 and IMO are a good buy for the money.

Mate, Like you I wanted a watch that was durable,
kept good time & was rugged in everyday use.

When I asked my jeweler to recommend a watch he
handed me this one.......

http://www.princetonwatches.com/shop/PXN045.asp

telling me that while it was not the most expensive
watch he could sell me it was the most durable. He
explained that all the farmers, Joe Average workers
& just plain folk's he had sold one to had grown to
really like it's stright forward simplicity and
accuracy. Plus not a single one had been returned
for any reason.

I've had mine for about 4 years now and it's been
the best darn watch I've ever owned for daily use:D
So give it a look and consider buying one as I'm
sure you won't regret it;)

Get yourself either a Casio G-Shock, OR a Casio Protrek...A gadget-
lovers dream-watch...(I have one, and I still haven't figured-out most of the advanced features, but what the heck...It looks really cool! :D).
