Yeah, that's an awesome vid. This guy is a straight up, no hype knifemaker. Knows his stuff.
 
he's the one who demonstrated making a full-tang knife from O-1 steel using just hand tools (vise, hack saw, files, a filing jig, a hand acetelyn torch, and cinder blocks.)
 
Thanks for the link, he's a very thorough guy, I'd like to try one of his blades out in the Pennsylvania weeds.
 
He said 3V was the best steel for his heat treat, followed by A2 and O1.

What were the other two steels?
 
I was able to stop the frames as he was writing them down for the reveal. Steels used were:

440C
154CM
O-1 Kiln heat treat
O-1 Simple heat treat
A-2
CPM-3V
